Christine Burke/Co-Founder OME, Co-owner/Director Liberation

At the age of 8 Christine remembers remember thinking that the "now" was
very important. That each moment was a tiny universe and would never
happen again. Throughout her life she has been searching and has always
felt most comfortable when asking the big questions of life while fully
immersed in the small moments of existence. Yoga is a practice that allows
her to live  life as a quest, a magical journey and the gift of sharing
that with others is Christine's eternal good fortune. She stepped into
Yoga as an actress and former dancer in New York at Jivamukti and was
enthralled by the practice as taught by David Life and Sharon Gannon.

She studied there as well as Integral Yoga and Om Yoga until moving to
Los Angeles in 1994. There Christine met her husband to be (Gary
McCleery)who introduced her to Center For Yoga via Frank White and
Steve Walter who became her two main teachers for the next 5 years. She
Began teaching in 1999 and received her certification from CFY in 2000.
She has been influenced, inspired and challenged by her teachers;
Ana Forrest, Edward Clark, Ganga White, Marla Apt, Paul Cabanis,
Patricia Walden, Jill Miller and Darren Main. Her other main influences
are her husband, her 3 dogs, her students, friends and family, Mother Nature
and too many poets, musicians and artists to mention.  Christine's students
range in age from 4 to 93. She is a frequent contributor to LA Yoga Magazine,
has been featured in the LA Times, LA Weekly, Yogi Times, LA Yoga Magazine
and on the online program "Great Yoga Teachers".  She is also an ambassador to
LuLuLemon Athletica.

Christine and Gary have shared the desire to create a
dynamic convergence of physical/spiritual health, art and community for
the last 10 years. They have been deeply involved in the Los Angeles Yoga
Community as workers and practicioners during this time. They have both
spent the better part of their lives dedicated to yoga, music and theatre
and were the co-founders and directors of Salvation Theatre from 2000
until 2004. In 2004 Liberation Yoga was born and is the realization of an
ever evolving desire to create community, awareness, and meaning out of
the everyday fabric of our lives and through this creation share with one
another the freedom that is the love that is who we truly are.
